Whether I am writing a sermon, a story, a prayer or a poem, a research paper or a blog, I love taking Anne Lamott's advice.
The process of writing is so often about waiting patiently for inspiration and then for words to arrive, swim around in my mind and heart and finally make their way onto the paper or (more often) the screen. In sermons and prayers and especially story telling, I enjoy both finding just the right words in advance and letting the Spirit move me in the moment.
